Agree with the above posts....best to worst...tile, laminate wood, carpet (if you have to). Laminate wood is a fairly easy self install if you are semi-handy with that stuff.

Hi,

My name is Jay West and have FINALLY decided I need to make it onto the forums after listening to multiple podcasts (which are great I might add...thank you Josh and Brandon!) I came across the site a few years back when doing some research and have finally gotten into real estate. My current interest is in buy and hold and am focusing on SFR at this point. My partner and I have 2 in in W. Pasco and have utilized much info from the podcasts and Beginner's Guide to Investing up to this point. I thought it was time to "check out" the forums a little closer and quickly realized how many from the Tri Cities area are members. I am very much looking forward to vast amount of topics and knowledge on this site but also am a little bit nervous as to what I will be able to contribute back. I am relatively new (after much research) into the field but plan to be involved for good. Thank you to Josh and Brandon and everyone who does contribute to make this site great and to help other be successful. It is certainly something you don't have to do but are gracious enough to do and I appreciate it. Hope I also will be able to provide some input and knowledge as I continue to grow and learn. Thank you.

Hey Dave,

Interesting note....I too have been trying to keep up with the podcast (Thank you Josh and Brandon. They are great!) and have been prodding myself to get onto the forums as they have suggested as well. I think it is pretty awesome that one of the first times I get on here I also find someone who lives in the Tri Cities area. My partner and I are fairly new into buy and hold (2 SFR at this point in West Pasco). It would be interesting to meet up sometime and hear a little bit about what you got going on. Maybe we can help each other out at some points down the road. Thanks for the post and piquing my interest into the forums even more. Hope your current projects work out well!
