Hey everyone,
I currently live in Charlotte, NC and looking to invest in a duplex/triplex/quadplex under 125k (possibly a single family under 60k). I'm relatively new to the area and would love to have coffee with someone if they're interested in talking to me about the area, your story and just general real estate talk. Let me know if anyone is interested and I'd definitely pick up the tab!
Thank you,
Sankeerth

Hello Everyone,
I've recently just moved to Charlotte, NC and would like to learn more about the area and have a goal of buying my first property by the end of this year. I've listened to many BP podcasts, read and continuing to read real estate books and finally have decided to get past the first step and actually invest in a property.
I'm interested in multi-family units (currently just du/tri/quad plex's as for the residential loan convenience).
I'd love to hear from current investors and people who have been in the market for a while here in Charlotte. I'd love to pay for a cup of coffee or a drink if anyone in the area would like to meet and have a conversation about real estate!

Post: FHA loans and refinancing

Hello all! I'm new to the real estate field and have a question regarding FHA loans.
How does refinancing an FHA loan work since it deals with PMI? I understand at a high level how refinancing works (at least with traditional 15yr/30yr loans) but was wondering how that comes into play when you have to pay a PMI. I want to aim at a property that is about 150k so a 3.5% down payment of $5,250, if this provides any insight.
My thoughts are possibly refinancing within 3 years or whenever seems appropriate and there is enough cash in hand to consider refinancing.
Thanks in advance for the help!

I'm actually in the SSIC group and will be attending my first meetup with them this Thursday - maybe I'll see you there!
I'll definitely look into the local REIA.
Stay warm!

Hello BP Community!
I'm a recent college graduate (May '13) from Raleigh, NC who has moved to the Saint Louis area for work after graduating.
I'm new to the whole real estate field and feel there is a lot of opportunity to learn and profit from. I want to gain an much knowledge as possible and have been reading some of the forums on here along with reading real estate books.
My goals are to start investing in properties and create a portfolio that will always keep growing (hopefully). I've recently gained an interest in doing an owner occupy with a duplex/triplex/quad to help pay for mortgage and learn to be a landlord in the process without overwhelming myself.
I've found out about BiggerPockets.com through google and it seems to be a great place to learn and communicate with other real estate investors both new and experienced.
