Thanks @Bruin Schafrath! I will add Druid Hills to my radar. One follow up question in relation to you mentioning neighborhoods "that are not the best". Do you have any suggestions or resources to help determine what deciphers a good neighborhood? For example, I do not want to spend time analyzing deals that are in areas where once I rehab a property, the rent is too high for the possible tenants interested in living in that area, so I am trying to find that sweet spot of deciphering an up and coming neighborhood from "not the best".

I have only lived in Charlotte for a few years, so still learning the areas and where these opportunities might be better. I typically look at comps and rent prices in the area, but appreciate any other suggestions!

Thanks @Jaycee Greene, this is a huge help to get me started. I appreciate it!

Hi All -

I'm a rookie looking into BRRRR in the Charlotte area - my budget for purchase price and renovations is currently $300K (subject to change possibly as I explore different financing options). I have a few questions I'm hoping to get advice on:

  1. 1 - Anyone familiar with investing in the Charlotte area and have suggestions of which areas to check out for BRRRRs? Or any suggestions on resources to use to better learn the areas to help me narrow down my search?
  2. 2 - Any suggestion on estimating rehab costs? I know these can be all over the place depending on the specific property and probably best to have a GC walk the property with me, but wondering if there are any general guides I can use while I do my deal analysis (before involving a GC).

Open to any suggestions and appreciate any help and advice!

Hello BP!

I am new to (actively) using BP, and I am looking for someone in the Charlotte area who could use some assistance in their real estate investing to in return help mentor a newbie (me), as I hope to start learning more in a hands-on way!

I work full-time as a CPA audit manager at a Big 4 public accounting firm, and in my free time I would love to help and learn from an experienced investor with strategies similar to what I’m interested in (appreciation, single family (potential multi family), mid-term rental (potential short-term)).

Open to any advice as well on how to make my first leap into actual investing!
