Elizabeth, that is not true for VA loans. I am currently working on my second tier VA loan. I have a VA loan on my current home but since it is not maxed out, I can use the remaining for a second tier Va home. I have already been pre approved through Veterans United. The second tier VA loan is very common, most veteran purchase a second home as a vacation rental. But hopefully a lender reads this and can explain it better.

I own my home in liberty hill and thinking about buying another one to move into as my primary. Prices are very high and cant find a deal for investment so it seems like utilizing my Va home loan and move every year or two and be able to rent the other one is my best route to start my investing career. I am 100% Disabled veteran so i don't pay property taxes, God I love Texas, but will that apply to the second home too? and while its being rented? thanks Yall.

What’s everyone’s thoughts on doing a Brrrr with manufactured homes in Texas? Do they appraise okay in Texas if done right? Anyhow this would be my first rental property and would like to start with lower price point like manufactured home.

Have a manufactured home deal that I want to pursue, built 99 that is sitting on prime 2 acre land here in central Texas, I have applied for financing + rehab cost that would hopefully get 100k on equity once appraised , but I have not heard back from any of the lender. I feel like lenders don’t want to touch manufactured home or the loan amount $200k is too low? Any ideas
