Luke H. Thanks! What would you say is the advantage of a bank instead of a mortgage broker? Doesn't the broker have more ways of finding lenders?

To get a pre-approval mortgage letter, would it be better to go to a bank or a mortgage broker? Would really appreciate any advice on this.

My husband and I are new to REI. We built our SFH and have lived in it since 1993. We both work full time, and we would like to earn passive income (and hopefully appreciation) from buying multi-family units in a buy and hold strategy. I have been on BiggerPockets for about a month now, but I'm just now taking the plunge to introduce myself. I have read the beginner's guide and have been listening to the great podcasts. I look forward to being part of your community!
