You might consider going to a CCIM class in your area. It would compliment your CPA education and give you the tools to better understand real estate investing. I just started and the financial formulas and networking are already becoming valuable to my investing business.

One of my clients have found deals on mobile home parks all over Texas, generally 10% to 15% cap rates. He cleans up the management and puts them the park back on the market with owner finanance terms lower than banks offer.
My Uncle is a Texas Appraiser that specializes in doing appraisals for owners for Mobil Home parks.
