Calling on experienced multifamily investors.

I recently had a meeting with an individual in the CRE field as a broker who advised the multifamily game has no value anymore unless you own the property outright. He advised its time has come and gone. He went on to say the better play right now is the residential side (single family and duplex).

Thoughts?

I am starting out in CRE, specifically multi family. Can anyone tell me the best ways they have learned to acquire new investors?

I have heard that dealing with the government as it pertains to section 8 can be a pain. Are section 8 MF properties even worth looking at or should they be avoided?

@Alex Olson Thanks for responding and for providing those groups to look into. I am currently in the learning and researching phase. I have family who has done fairly well for themselves investing in residential real estate but I don’t think that is the route I want to take. I am intrigued with multi family and the opportunities it can provide. I’m currently a Police Officer with not a whole lot to invest on my end. I want to break into this space but I would have to go at it through syndication. Any advice on the topic would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
