Matt, I worked for American Express for a little while and all of the calls made were recorded , but had to conform to FCC rules & regulations. I don't know what the rules are now, but I believe you still need to be FCC compliant when recording.

Have been away from BP for a couple of years. Personal issues. This is as good a thread as any to get back into it.
Have always been interested in probates. Am going to get back into it and start hammering a direct mailing campaign. Spent the last week building up my leads going back 3 months so far. I sent out about 125 mailers so far. I’ll probably go back 1 or 1 ½ years and see what properties are still in the decedent’s/PR’s name and focus on those as well. Going to start with Broward County but after a little time will then hit Palm Beach and possibly Miami-Dade.

@Jocelyn
Go online to the county property appraiser's website and see if the decedent owned property. Sometimes the owners name will have an "EST" after the name which makes it easy to know. Sometimes the P.R.'s name will be listed as the owner also. Digging into the history of the property will usually tell you that the name was recently changed to reflect that.
Where I am, the legal newspapers publish probate data daily and it's online which makes it very easy. You need to find the publication that it's published in and the people at the county probate office know which one they use. Go in during the middle of the week when it's not so busy, be nice and courteous and they'll help you out.

I'm with Bryan here. Didn't even know it existed. How do you get to the page (besides your link)?
Now that I know there is one, it looks like there is a lot of potential information there. I'd certainly use it. Maybe a lot of people just don't know about it.

Hey Matty,
That was my life for about 10 years. Long time ago. I just burned out. It takes it's toll. A lot has changed since I was on the floor, but I still like to keep a foot in there. I still have friends at the exchange. It's all electronic now, not like it was when I was doing it.
That's my issue getting started here - patience. But I'm confident I'll get the ball rolling soon. I'm starting to get that burn for R.E. as I had for trading.
But I'll probably always do a trade here or there. Once it get's in you it's hard to get it out.

Well, I made a post back on the 25th about going short around 48.00. I ended up doing 3 trades that day. All profitable, but that's what I used to do - floor tade. I love scalping the market. I never did like holding positions overnight. Too much can happen. It looks as though the funds got out and a lot of stops got hit in the beginning. The market has been very volatile here. I'm staying on the sidelines for a couple of days to see where the technicals pan out. The July contract has some pretty good support a bit under 34.00. Could go either way.

Here's an update tonight from Bloomberg News:
"Interior/Exterior Building Supply Ltd. of Louisiana agreed to pay $8 million cash and assign $72 million in insurance rights to resolve claims by thousands of U.S. homeowners whose properties were ruined by defective Chinese drywall.
The deal is the first such settlement with a major supplier and a number of its insurers, Russ Herman, a lawyer for homeowners, said in a statement.
Lawyers hope to negotiate a similar settlement with Banner Supply Co., the Miami-based firm that supplied the vast majority of Chinese drywall in Florida, Boca Raton attorney Allison Grant said.
The tainted wallboard was imported into the U.S. during the housing boom and following a series of Gulf Coast hurricanes."

SOJ - this is 6 years old. The OP has not posted here since 2007. Do you really think you're going to get a reply? Waste of time IMO. Waste of everybody else's time opening this.

No. I've been to a few meetings here and the first thing you see when you enter are the tables with the upsells. Can't even get to the meeting room without getting hit on. I don't go anymore. Just because of that.
