I am 25 years old and not sure which direction I should go. My parents are real estate investors in Portland Oregon and my dad also does remodeling for other people. I have helped him with it for about 5 years. They also manage all their properties as well.
I know I want to work in real estate just not sure what is best for me.
I'm thinking of getting my property management license and starting a business with that,
Or I could get a real estate licence, though I do not want to be a real estate agent, I would just get it for the MLS.
Ignore both and focus on finding a house to invest in. And finding some work to do on fixing others peoples house.
I don't wont to be a handyman my entire life like my dad has. And I think getting a real estate licence would be a waste since I don't want to do that either.

I use these sources all the time when in doing research.
Good luck
Thanks very much @Daria B

Theres this house I found that is rough condition and has been sitting empty for quite awhile and is not on the market. It may or may not be a good property to invest in but I figure I might as well check.
So how would I find out who owns it and get into contact with them asking if they are interested in selling? I remember reading it in a book but couldn't find it.

Hello, I am very new to real estate and am just trying to learn as much as possible now.
I was looking at houses in my city on zillow.com and was wondering how the buying process works for foreclosed properties and pre-forclosed as well. Also I can't believe how many of them there are I would have never guessed.
