Hi,
I am in the middle of doing an interest rate reduction on my homestead (VA Loan) through Navy Federal CU. They mentioned that I can shop for my own title company. I have normally gone with the credit union's title partner but curious is it worth shopping. What should I particularly look for when shopping? Thanks for your help.

I was searching this topic to see what banks / CUs were highly recommended. For anyone associated with the military, Navy Federal Credit Union has been an excellent choice for me. I have multiple businesses set up (SCorp, LLCs) and also sub-accounts within each of my main accounts. The are limited on their business products for investment lending, but for the purpose of pure banking, it is a great options. Just wanted throw that out there.

I am 3 days away from closing on my VA Interest Rate Reduction Refinance on my homestead. I want to know (being in Austin) can I still do a HELOC? Also, how do I find out what my Primary residence is valued at before inquiring with an lending firm. My goal is to reinvest my equity into a fix/flip. Any help is appreciated.

@Mike Lambert I hear that is a 5 or more yr project. I also heard that there is talks of an international airport in Tulum in 2 yrs, but all that seems aggressive. The new airport and rail will definitely change the landscape of property access in areas near Tulum. https://www.forbes.com/sites/jimdobson/2020/10/07/tulum-mexico-will-get-a-new-luxury-airport-in-2023/?sh=6b10a2c43f36
