I will be moving and buying a housing in Tampa Florida in September/October . I am thinking to get a Triplex or a house with many rooms as possible with a mother in law unit, basically I am trying to house hack, first time buyer. Any suggestions? Hi guys I need some help. So I saw a property on Zillow it’s pre foreclosure but it’s not on mls. I am looking for a house and been in the market. We are qualified by a lender, question is how to go about preforclosure properties, is there a way to find the phone number of the owner or how can I find the owners address. I am First time buyer. @Josephine Wilson we have the same problem going on in Tacoma Wa. Me and my gf looking for a househack. First we thought duplex but duplex are not even giving .5% rent here. Numbers are just not making any senses here, every property is going 10, 20k more than sellers asking price.. now we are thinking of a triplex fourplex or SFR with Adu . Anyone, how can I look for off market properties? Where can I find them?

@Robert Freeborn I haven’t This is our first property so a little scared to go for brrr. Wanted more of a turnkey, but if nothing else available might look into that too

I m trying to house hack in Tacoma Wa area. Been in the market for almost a month. In the beginning I was thinking to get a 2/1 2/1 duplex, but for 99% of properties numbers just don't make sense I know once I move out and rent out other portion too they would go in cash flow negative. Now I am thinking to either get a triplex 2/1 2/1 1/1 and stay in the smallest portion or get an SFR 3/2 + Adu 1/1.

Any advice from any house hackers who have done it before? Anything I am missing out?

So far I think it’s a sellers market for sure anything I even consider putting an offer gets a plus 10K asking price. Appreciate you all, Thanks
