@Alex Chin thank you for all the info. I have spent a little bit of time looking through the Zillow map to try and identify which areas I am most interested in, and I decided that the West Seattle or Fremont areas are where I would like to start off at. I'm currently renting in Capitol Hill but in 2017, I plan on utilizing the first time home buyer program to get a duplex and start renting the other half out. From there I'm hoping to keep acquiring rental units then maybe eventually sell all of them and try get into commercial real estate.

@Patrick Britton I'm currently a Software Engineer at T-Mobile but plan on leaving the industry in a few years to focus on whatever real estate investments I would have accrued by that time.

I'm a young software professional currently with T-Mobile and i'm very new to the world of real estate investing. I'd like to learn as much as i can so i can get a better feel for what my options are.
