Have you looked at property in Orlando? I have a few properties up right now with ROI's 7.5% - 12% all less than 100k.

Mel, yes I'm actually finalizing everything this week to hang with C21 Feltrim team. They are an arm of a bigger group of companies that include property development, and they're in the heart of the 535 corridor explosion happening right now.. they're focusing on a lot of new home sales, and when their properties become available for sale, our team has exclusive selling rights. So it's an exciting team to learn with. I like that they're heavily focused on investors overseas as well. I interviewed with about 7 teams, and really liked the broker there.

@country musick: hey man, I know a little bit about wholesaling, but not enough to have any sort of opinion about it. I've heard some stories of people getting burned by it, but I would love to talk to someone who has mastered it.

Rental cabins in western NC is definitely a dream of mine as well. I would love to talk to you about the different areas and answer questions related to area desirability and stuff. I used to have a blog that talked about western NC, trails, venues, etc. I also got married up there. Any assistance I can be regarding that I would love to help.

Hey Guys, I've been a "member" for a little while, reading and researching the site to get answers to questions for ideas and things. I've never done an RE transaction before, but the dream is to have a portfolio of buy/hold properties to rent out for a lifetime.

I'm moving to the Orlando area and starting my licensing course in June, I hope to have my license by July to learn the ropes as an agent for a year or so, and then dip into buying some properties myself to rent to tourists in the area. ANY ADVICE on this exact subject (renting to tourists in Orlando) is much appreciated. Also, any advice about the FL RE test and becoming an agent is also appreciated. I'm hoping to use the income as a launch pad into RE investing.

I have an understanding of the Charlotte, NC market as well as the Blue Ridge/Western NC market, and I'm hoping to invest in some rental cabins up there as well once I pick up some steam in FL.
