Interesting. So basically, the individual is just advertising in a way? The price was EXTREMELY low for the given property.

Hello all,

What does it mean when searching for property on Zillow and it has the title "Make Me Move"? The property I am currently looking at seems too good to be true for the listed price.

Thank You!

Hello BP Family,

I just discovered this term TurnKey. It sounds absolutely ideal being that I can't house hack due to my current and future location in the world. What are your thoughts on turnkey properties for newbies in REI? I will not have the ability to house hack for at least the next 2-3 years.

There is more than one type of auction. Most people think for foreclosure auctions but there are also public auctions where you can go inside and inspect the house prior to bidding. I sell many of the properties I wholesale via auction. Sometimes these may be estates that are liquidating assets or simply an investor like me that want a quick sure sale.

If you are bidding at auction you need to KNOW you have the  money lined up. You can not expect to finance an auction. The financing may take to long and you could lose your deposit. I have kept a lot of auction deposits from buyers who were unprepared.

Thanks Ned. That is really good advice. How much is a typical deposit at an auction or does it depend on a variety of variables?

Of the markets you mention, I can't say I really recommend any of those right now. Atlanta was amazing but it's pretty saturated now and there are better returns elsewhere. Tampa and SA are going to be fairly limited on cash flow. Are you married to those cities are open to wherever? Any idea your price range? Happy to make some recommendations!

Hello Ali.

I appreciate your advice. I absolutely love those cities but no, I am not married to them. Lol. I am very open to different opportunities. I will PM you with my price range. Thank you.

Hi @Ian Walsh. Why do you say that? I want to gain as much insight as possible.

I am in San Antonio. I can be your boots on the ground. I'm out there most of the time looking for deals and networking with RE investors. Please feel free to contact me and I can gladly help you.

Good evening ma'am,

Thank you for responding to my post. I was searching on Zillow and found a few properties that piqued my interest near Lackland Air Force Base and I was wondering would you be able to tell me a little bit about those areas? Market? Local economy? I can PM you with more information if you need me to. Again, thank you for your help.

@Patrick L. Oh wow. I always thought by buying at an auction, homes would be a lot cheaper. Have you ever tried or been successful at buying real estate at an auction? If so, what was your experience like if you don't mind sharing?

Thank you both, Matt Lefebvre and Colton Cook . The house I found is on Bay Shore in Tampa, FL. It's starting out at only a $100 which I found to be be too amazing but being a first timer I'm not sure if I should even bother because houses in the area are in the high $300,000+ range. Not being experienced, I imagine the damage to the inside of the home may be severe given the low starting bid. If I have friend in the area, could they go and scope out the place for me, maybe look in the windows to get a lay of the land or is that illegal. The house was a foreclosure.
