Hi there! I’m looking for Lender referrals in the local Portland area. Specifically ones who are well experienced in the multi-family owner occupied space. I’d like to explore my options on a 3-4 unit multiplex in close-in southeast Portland. Thank you for your help, this newbie welcomes all advice!

@Eric Koelling thank you, I'm open to a 2-4 unit multiplex, so long as the numbers work. But in the close-in Portland market, it is appearing that duplexs do not cash flow whatsoever. With that, I have my eye on 4-plexs which have the best chance of cash flowing, though on the MLS there are very few, so I'm probably going to need to be creative and patient.

Ryann Maginn thank you, I’m not sure where to even start with the cold calling strategy you described, that might be a little more advanced for where I’m at.

Hi there! My name is Liz C. from beautiful Portland, Oregon (originally from Chicago). I am a total newbie to real estate but my background as a CPA has provided me an advantage when it comes to tax planning and deal analysis. I’m just getting started, so looking to build out my team and take in advice from those more experienced. My goal is to find a multiplex in inner southeast Portland to owner occupy that actually cash flows or breaks even (If such a thing exists in this growth market?). I found Bigger Pockets through Scott Trench’s book Set for Life, and have been enjoying the podcasts.
