It was with Flushing. It was a refi. The property had been in my family for a long time. Way more costly than a residential mortgage. Also, the appraisal was based on a mix of a commercial analysis and a resale analysis. You have to have an account with Flushing too. Flushing' customer service is horrible. The people are incompetent. They mess up simple things. I almost feel like we should chat on the phone so I can go over the process. It took 6 months even though it was a straight forward transaction.
Also, I have been sued for a slip and fall for the same property. The insurance company handled it but lot of risk for "minor" lawsuits. Again, this is an offline discussion.

I recently got a 30 year loan for a 3 unit mixed use property in Brooklyn held in an LLC. Completely commercial. Some caveats though on the process which sucked.

Is the NYCHA or the state agency Section 8 program? There are definitely two Section 8 programs(I know because I have two tenants under different programs). I think there is one other.

If you have the voucher number call up Section 8 and ask. If you had the prior owner's financials and it was direct deposit from Section 8, the voucher ID should match up.

Go to the DOF website and look for the property tax bill. Fill in the block and lot and you should be able to see the latest bill. Don't know if that will get you the owner's current whereabouts but better than nothing.

I read that article. I doubt NYS is going to change anything in terms of the foreclosure process. Some courts are mandating sit downs between banks and the owners. I saw one house in a pretty nice areal on LI and was thinking how could this happen in that area.

LLc was only named party on insurance. The plaintiff only named the LLC in the lawsuit. Also, a side benefit, if you care about privacy, the plaintiff did not know our home addresses.

I should say the lender will lend against SRO's. Don't know the parameters.
