Thanks for the reply Marcus.  The current owner seems to have a few rain barrels next to the house perimeter.  Maybe spillage from the barrels add to the water seeping into the basement as well. But definitely the basement seals need ti be checked by a professional.  Thanks again.

Thank you for your reply Nathan.  No, none of those. But I was told the surrounding land is flat and needs to be sloped out to get water flowing away from the house.  I will consider getting an estimate of perhaps re-sealing the basement as you suggested and nego to take that cost of the house.  Not sure what a French drain is but I will find out.  Thanks again.

Found a good deal.  Except the basement though undeveloped had previous water damage from water seeping in from surrounding since ground is flat and not sloped away from the house.  Will this be resolved if I bring in a landscaper to slope the ground outward?  Thanks for the help.
