Also, partnering with another investor who can sign on the loan may help. Local banks that don't sell to secondary market and keep loans in house may be able to work with you as well. Good Luck

@Account Closed, I second what others have said. Get the lingo of the business down and keep building rapport with people you feel are serious investors.

I was an Econ nerd in college. Most students don't like the subject or struggle in the classes. Keep with Econ if it is something that makes you excited to learn!
Learning about markets, knowing how/why certain things happen in our economy can be applied back to RE.

Jon Holdman John P. Jon makes a good point, I was thinking in the mindset of a four or less unit property. My bad.
Building rapport in the beginning with any person in the equation of a deal are what matter, my point I guess.
