Thank you Bill!

So far I am trying to do research on my own. I don't feel that membership is a positive investment; even in class room during half an hour practice of the whole 3 days course I could see that ends don't meet and to find a note worthy to work with is not that easy as they pretend it is. While material is still in my head I am looking for hedge funds to contact. Maybe you know some of them?

I heard you about attorney and I understand you mean all that hidden traps. It is all about due diligence and even then no warranty that something is missed. Attorneys in my area are pure shacks, their pricing is unbelievable. Plus even if they don't know the subject they will say they do and will make you pay even more for their own mistakes in time and $$$.

@Dion DePaoli

I just noticed that I missed the elephant in the room and did not realize that you are from Fort Lauderdale. Well, I just came back from 3 days live event with topic about non-performing notes and it was exactly in this city!

When I first signed up to BP I saw the warning "no advertising" in this area, so tried to play by the rules. Now I see people exchange with detailed info about meetings of interest and their posts were not removed on that ground. So I wish to confirm now, yes, that event was interesting but left me with toes wet and dry over all. Eventually the managers of that group were selling packages of membership starting at 16k and up to 32k. God help me! (LOL, I am not religious). But I saw students "in process", they were second or 4th month in program and liked it. As for me I hope I can deal with due diligence on my own but lost on question how to source defaulted paper. Don't you have a hint?

And I am kind of moaning that missed a chance to say you hello when I was at that event, but good news is I can say you it right here, right now.

@Dion DePaoli

Eddie Speed is a founder of this event but I don't know if I break forum's policy by giving more publicity to that meeting. I would not have to break the bank to go there because I split the cost with a person who invited me in and initially it is not expensive. This time I am learning some basics from material provided and have full feeling that it is not strategy that would make you rich unless you are already rich but this is the area in REI that I know nothing about and I don't mind to learn a little since opportunity arrived. Plus I just hope to have a good time and escape from daily routine for awhile.

I wish to thank you Dion for this communication and assure that I am excited to meet so experienced people in REI (and notes particularly!) here and will keep in touch all the way along my future endeavors in this business.

Bill,

I am not sure what do you mean "OPM" and "churn" notes? It seems like you know the subject from your own experience. A friend of mine is talking that she heard from people they buy properties for $1; I don't think that type of deals have something to do with notes, if they are existing, it should be something else. Don't you think?

Thank you so much folks,

That what I thought, I will learn in direct communications with fellow investors better then on selling event but promised to friend to share the trip and cost. I am looking at it as on type of vacation also and hope to get back with some knowledge and connections acquired at the same time. But from what I learned so far they are not too many note sales around, aren't they? I will look for that specific forum Dion mentioned about and, yes, I will learn as much as I can before to go to that event.

Thank you everyone for response, it is a real help.

I am planning to attend live event this month with the subject study about Notes. Could anyone to share with experience on this kind of investing and give an idea how long time it may consume to get in the field and see results?

I have some experience in rehabbing and flipping but wish to find out if work with notes is a real deal or should I rather stay away from it.

Thank you everyone for any input, I would really appreciate it.
