How's it going? I'm also in New York, trying to figure out how to get into this market. You seem to be steps ahead of me because I'm just in the education phase of things. Hope things work out for you!

Hey BP, I'm new to REI. I don't know what area I will be investing in. Is it beneficial to get my sellers lic in the place I live or should I wait to get it in the place I will invest (if the state is near me)?

What's up BP? My name is Lulli (have fun pronouncing that) Debrosse. I'm a cleaner in a NYC school. I became interested in real estate when my wife and I purchased our first place. The fact that I was paying $800 less than those that were renting out a similar place, was crazy to me. A friend told me about this website a few days ago and I sign up to a REIA which he's joined recently. I'm not sure the type of investing I would like to do, so I'm keeping an open mind.

P.S: I've taught myself how to code site's. So if that is a sore point for you, I would love to help.
