Post: So what's holding you back?

Hi @Frank Patalano,
What's holding me back is a) time to educate myself in knowing what steps to take and the type of investment that will work for me in this stage of my life and b) living in Germany and wanting to invest in the US. The real estate laws and taxable benefits in Germany are very different from the US and I want to establish a portfolio before trying to break to the barriers Europe has in place.
I listen to BP podcasts and take notes on tips and techniques, but being so far away from a potential market in the US, makes it seem a bit more difficult.

Hello,
Quick question: has anyone successfully invested in real estate while living or working in Europe?
Not necessarily investing in real estate that is located in Germany, but investing for example i real estate in the US while living abroad?
Any suggestions and / or advice is appreciated.
Thank you,
Marcelo

Hello,
I have heard and seen many different responses / information to the following question, and hope a CPA or an experienced professional in the topic can shine some light on this:
"Can you write off travels to / from if you are traveling only to view properties and meet with a property owner / real estate Investor / etc.?"
Some individuals say yes as long as you can prove you made prior arrangements, appointments, etc. and other says you can only write-off these expenses after you actually own property in that location.
Does it make a difference if you make the travel purchases as part of your personal assets or on behalf of an LLC?
Thank you all in advance for your insights.

Hi @Rachelle Rayner,
Thank you for the feedback to my question.
That wou be great, if you can link me up with the CPA you're working with as I have real estate and personal tax questions, and am looking for a CPA.
Much appreciated.

Hello,
I will transfer from an expat status to a German working contract and looking to find reputable accountants I can work with to better understand the German taxes and write-off opportunities while in Europe as it relates to travel for real estate investment, etc. - similar to how it is in the US.
Does anyone have any resources available for me or points of contacts?
Thank you.

Hi All,
I'm starting off in the real estate investment realm and wanted to solicit some insights to LLC: best strategies, good tips, if there special considerations (i.e. currently overseas for work), and reliable online resources to get the process started so I can apply for an EIN, etc.
If a post with such information already exists, I would ask that you point me in the right direction.
Thank you.

Hello BP,
I am brand new to this app/forum but listened to Brandon's podcast for a few months now. It really clicked for me when learning about BRRR and how the strategy is set up.
All the information in the world is worthless if my execution is not on point, or at least in the general area of where I should be.
Background: I currently work / live in Heilbronn, Germany, and my business partner is located in Washington DC.
We are open to any US market to invest using the BRRR strategy with a focus in the MO / VA area.
Would someone be able to guide me in the right direction as it relates to the below points?
1. HML (Hard Money Lender)
2. Agent / Wholesaler
3. Methods of finding BRRR properties
4. Any additional topics I should keep in mind.
Thank you in advance, BP!
BR,
Marcello
