I think being an Associate Agent for a company like Redfin would be interesting. I've been considering that myself as a side gig. I talked with an AA (a retired lady who now does this part-time) at the inspection for the last house I purchased. Basically, Associate Agents attend home inspections and closings if the Redfin Agent can't make it, but it's low-stress since it's largely administrative and clients aren't blowing up your phone at midnight. Seems like a good way of getting some R/E knowledge in a low-stress way. Hope that helps!

Hi John. Yes, work with a banking attorney who is familiar with bank regulations. I'm a bank regulatory attorney (I work for a bank regulator, not private practice). If the bank is in troubled condition, there are additional restrictions and the bank may need approval from the regulator, which may create delays, so make sure the attorney checks all that out.

Popping by to say hi to everyone! I just signed up to go to the next Deals Meetup on 9/4. We live in Alexandria, VA. I'm an attorney and foreign-language translator and am beginning my R/E investment education. Looking forward to meeting everyone.
