Hello BP family I discovered and joined BP yesterday and jumped right into the information. After a full day of reading I figured I should introduce myself because I see I’ll be spending a lot of time here. My name is Mario, I am 34 and located in Memphis, TN. I currently work as a firefighter for the Memphis Fire Department. On average I work about 10 days a month (24hr shifts) so I have a lot of free time on my hands and I’m aiming to fill much of that space with real estate investing. My real estate experience is limited to me searching for and purchasing my first home in 2007 (primary residence) where I basically did all the leg work (agent only arranged showings and handled paperwork) but that is where I fell in love with the business of real estate as a whole. Even after purchasing my home I still found myself searching and watching certain properties, keeping tabs on the market and hot area throughout the city and being able to notice certain changes in trends. Just like most here I’ve seen the “guru” seminars, watched the HGTV/DIY shows, listened to the podcasts, watched the YouTube videos and read the blogs and in being on BP for less than 24 hours a lot of the information I thought I knew has now been debunked, so to speak. I’ve read many different threads and discussions on here and I just want to sincerely thank EVERYONE on the site for all of their input because there’s no better teacher than actually life experiences and that is what BP seems to be based on. I’m looking forward to learning much more and hopefully I’ll be able to contribute to the discussions.
