Hi Mary! Welcome to Pittsburgh. As many people will tell you, there are few better ways to get into REI than house hacking. I have done it myself and recommend it often to clients who are willing. Best of luck!

Hey Robert! I’m in Pittsburgh and would be happy to help you analyze.

What neighborhood of Pittsburgh is the home in? This can greatly impact closing costs as well as potential ARV. Have you seen the home? Specific lots/streets do not comp out as well as others due to our topography among other factors.

Feel free to reach out and I’d be happy to help you analyze further!

Quote from @Brian Larson:

@Max Feinberg can probably give you some suggested companies?  What size of outfit are you looking for?

Harry, where are the properties located exactly?

@Ivan Touevski Hello Ivan! Pittsburgh is a great market for out of state investors…depending on your strategy and expectations. I see you mentioned single family homes…are you open to small multi family as well? With interest rates/prices going up, single family has become a bit harder to find deals that make sense. Would be happy to discuss neighborhoods and specifics with you!

Post: How Do We Feel About Student Rentals??

Hello Everyone!

As the market continues to make it more difficult to find cash flowing investments, I have found myself wondering how people are viewing investing in Multi-Family student rentals? Around the Western Pennsylvania area where I live/work/Invest, we have a few small, college towns where there seem to be quite a few attractive deals. I know some were weary over the past few years about colleges going more remote than in the past, but it seems that fear has slowed down some.

Are any of you investing with success in student rentals in these college towns?? Anybody who swears against it (and why)?
