Shawn,

One will never know..At the end of the day you have to trust yourself and be confident in whatever you do.

James,

Congrats on making the jump into the columbus market. It’s an exciting one to join especially as the city continues to grow and attract new businesses and people. The best part about columbus is there are hybrid areas all over columbus. Some more evolved than others but you will be able to find what you are looking for as long as you know what you want- risk tolerance, time you want to hold, purchase price, cash flow to start, and so on. Once you answer these questions you will be able to narrow down what areas are right for you. You cannot go wrong investing in Columbus.

You could look into a 1031 exchange and invest it in a similar property with greater potential. There are many exit options for you which is great. What you have to consider is what are your goals and what helps you get to them. 150k is a lot of money to work with and in this market you can find a lot of deals for that price. People wont always agree with what you want to do or your plan but stick to your goals and your options will start to open before your eyes.

Quote from @Max Mollaun:

Hello all,

I am new to BP and wanted to jump on here to connect with people in my area/network. I would love to chat with people about investing opportunities in Columbus. I think there is great potential on the east side of town with the news of Intel expanding over there in the next 5 years.

Thanks!!

Max, congrats on making the jump into the Columbus market! I agree there is great potential on the east side of town with the Intel news. I believe that is only the start of what Columbus offers. There are many diverse opportunities here that anyone can find something to accommodate their preferences and risk tolerance. Columbus has been expanding in every direction and in may opinion will continue to do so as people and businesses continue to flock here.

Best of luck as you join the exciting Columbus market!

Post: What’s the buy formula in Columbus, Ohio

Hi Sebastian,

Thats a great question. Unfortunately there is no set formula. Columbus offers a special opportunity in real estate as there are areas for everyone to find their niche. It is a quickly expanding market that will continue to grow as companies like Intel and people continue to see the value it offers. Quick answer it depends on personal preference. Breaking it down into smaller buckets of risk preference, location, experience level, goals, and personal vision. One persons dream flip is another’s garbage. I would recommend exploring a few different areas in Columbus and learning how the market works in all of the different pockets and before you know it you’ll create your own formula to succeed in Columbus.
