Post: Opinions on obtaining a Bachelors Degree

You can do it all if you want.

When I am asked for my opinion on getting a college degree, I will tend to say something like "...it doesn't matter what degree you choose, however, you should defiantly minor in Business Admin"

Business Admin will give you an introduction in what it takes to commercialize your talents. Notice I used the word -introduction-. Whatever business you choose to get into will require you to learn and grow on the job. Graduating with a business degree may help you avoid common business mistakes; mistakes that can break you earlier on. Being familiar with common business pitfalls and learning how to avoid them, in my opinion, can be learned in the class room (and on BP) when you don't have it all on the line.

Personally I majored in business administration with a concentration in entrepreneurial management. I earned my BA an AA and AS is three years from accredited institutions. Pay attention, you do not need to take four years to earn a bachelors.

I have a full time W2 job, own several buy and holds, commercial and residential, and love to flip SFH when I find good deals. 2015 is big year for me as my net worth will breach the 1 MIL mark for the first time...now on to my second MIL.

Good luck to you

@DB Brooks I am going to side with @Scott England on this one. The auction process can be tricky to navigate and has dangerous pitfalls that could potentially cost you >100% of what you might pay for a property.

@Aida Sevilla pointed you toward HUBZU and Auction.com. @Jill Patton pointed you toward the county Auctions. Understand that the process for both commercial type, judicial, non-judicial type auctions are very very different.

Auctions are a spectator sport. Spend some time at your local county auction, ask the local pros, and don't be afraid to consult with a Real Estate attorney in your area familiar with the county auction process.

Figure out the nuances between the different types of auctions. Personally I have not had luck with commercial type Auctions like HUBZU. Properties in my neck of the woods tend to get bid up to retail prices on these internet auctions. However, I have had luck winning bids at my live county Trustee Auction. Tread lightly.

Good luck to you.

I have always appreciated the sense of Integrity I get from regular BP contributors.

Scammers and pretenders get called out and exposed quickly which keeps them out of our space.

Great job. Bravissima. I always like to see posts regarding courthouse type auctions. no so many on BP. I regularly bid at my local auction; unfortunately, winning bids do not happen as often as I would like. I am very eager to learn the nuances of the auction process in other states.

@Erin Legler What's the redemption period in Florida? Here in CO junior lien holders have nine days to file an intent to redeem.  After that the property title transfers within another nine days or so to the winning bidder. However, homeowners lose all rights to redeem after the sale.

What type of auction? sheriff sale, trustee sale, court house steps, bank, Hubzu etc? there are very real differences between a Trustee type auction and Hubzu type auction.

Do your due diligence and know what lien your buying. The two biggest mistakes are :

1) Buying a junior lien

2) Over bidding

Good luck

What's the problem? Paint and carpet would do the trick.
