Are you tired of 2% returns on your traditional stock and bond investments? No asset class has performed better during the last 30 years than private equity commercial real estate. I will be traveling to Dallas on July 13, where I will hold a free commercial real estate investment forum. Over lunch, I'll explain how investors can build a superior portfolio by including private real estate. I have more than 15 years of experience as an active real estate investor and my firm, Origin Investments, has seen a 28% return, after fees, on our 27 investments. I plan to talk about how we've achieved that success at the July 13 forum. Accredited investors are invited to register for this event at: dallas.eventsbyorigin.com

Origin Investments has seen a 28% return, after fees, on its 27 fund investments — and our two principals have invested $10 million of their own money in Origin's current open fund, Fund 3.
You are cordially invited to a free commercial real estate investing forum in Dallas on June 8 or July 13 to learn about how Origin has achieved this success. Over lunch or dinner at The Capital Grille in Uptown, one of Origin's principals will explain how investors can build a superior portfolio by including private real estate.
Origin Cofounder and Principal David Scherer will speak at the June 8 event. Origin Cofounder and Principal Michael Episcope will speak at the July 13 events.
We are offering three dates in Dallas for these forums. Each complimentary mealtime forum will cover the same material.
YOU MUST REGISTER FOR AN EVENT DATE AND TIME, AS SEATS ARE LIMITED.
6/8, 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. Lunch at The Capital Grille, 500 Crescent Ct.
7/13, 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. Lunch at The Capital Grille, 500 Crescent Ct.
More about the event: In a small-group setting aimed specifically at accredited investors*, Origin's principals will provide insight about the state of commercial real estate and an overview of Origin’s strategy, track record and current investment offerings. To learn more about Origin, including extensive financial information, please visit our website at www.OriginInvestments.com. Our web site also includes many educational blogs and news articles to help new and experienced investors alike navigate the world of private commercial real estate.
These Dallas events are open to the first 25 investors who register for a seat, and seats are expected to fill quickly. If seats are filled, your name will go on a waiting list to be contacted for future Dallas events. The one-hour presentation follows a half-hour reception with Mr. Episcope or Mr. Scherer.
* An accredited investor is defined as an individual with a net worth of $1 million+ and/or an income of $200,000 per year, and/or a joint income of $300,000+ per year.

Post: Why Alternative Investments Should Be In Every Portfolio

“Alternative investments,” such as private equity real estate, are finding favor among high-net-worth investors these days.
They offer opportunities for accredited investors to invest outside the world of stocks, bonds and mutual funds. And real estate investment funds offer investors new ways to diversify and participate in real estate without managing the day to day activities.
Institutional investors are still the main backers of alternative investments in private real estate. They’re following the example of Yale University, which has grown its endowment from $4 billion to $25.6 billion in 20 years. Managers of higher-education endowments now allocate a majority of their assets to alternative investments, according to the National Association of College and University Business Officers.
Many wealth managers advocate real estate as part of a larger portfolio strategy due to the high expected returns, low volatility, and lack of correlation to stocks and bonds. Returns are higher compared to other alternatives with the same expected risk. Rents and property values tend to keep pace with inflation. When sold, real estate is also generally taxed at lower capital-gains rates.
What sometimes keeps individuals from buying real estate to diversify their portfolios is the cost of entry: The minimums to get into a quality fund are sometimes too high for investors — usually $250,000 to $500,000 per fund. But some firms offer deals with lower minimums than that.
A mix of stocks, bonds and private real estate investment shows a higher risk-adjusted return and lower volatility than other portfolios. And that’s a benefit in today’s world, where the ups and downs of the stock market make daily news.
