Post: How did REI surprise you and live up to expectations years later?

Hey BP investors! I'm relatively new to the game and am looking to start REI in the next few months. My questions for those with more years under their belt of REI is:

1. What are the biggest surprises you have had that you did not expect?

2. What are the biggest things that actually did end up happening in REI that you expected to?

Thanks!

@Chris Levarek in that case, can you ask for a second appraiser to take a look at the property or does it go by what the initial one appraised it at?

@Tim Delaney thanks! That seems to be the main source of comps that I have seen so far when researching it

Hello everyone. I started to try and evaluate properties I found on Zillow today. I put information into the BRRRR calculator and didn't necessarily know how to calculate the ARV without an actual comp number on Zillow. I was wondering, other than contacting an agent, what is the quickest way to determine ARV in relation to comps? What sites/areas can you find the most accurate comps for an ARV calculation. Thanks!

Thanks for the post! I went to dental school in Buffalo and since moving back to Long Island, I have had an interest in maybe doing long-distance REI in Buffalo from here.

Starting out also with a big interest in BRRRR. All great questions that I would love to know as well.

Post: Physician Mortgage Loan for investing a property?

Hey Everyone, this is my second post and still only a month into learning about REI.

The question I have is, can a Physician Mortgage Loan be used towards an investment property? Or will the lender only typically distribute it if it used for one's residence? I was wondering because it has a low down payment but seems to not require a PMI. Wasn't sure if this would affect the bank's decision where the loan would go towards. Thanks!

This is amazing! I'm just starting to learn about REI and I save stories like these for later to help keep me motivated when I get frustrated. Solid work and thanks for sharing!
