@Kevin Linh, I was also a "lurker" for a while. Like you, I saw the value of this site and have started to get much more active. I even met someone from my area that I'm going to start working with. I've been ordering and reading the books they recommend here on the site as well as listening to the podcasts. Lots of good stuff!

@Jim Keller,

I saw the part about the book club. I bought the book online, not sure if I'll get it soon enough to read it and participate in time for the next meeting, but it sounds pretty cool!

HI @Jim Keller and @Paul DoCampo, I'm a new investor and I was looking for groups here in the IE. Glad I saw this thread. I'll look up the group on "meet up" and hopefully see both of you there on the 3rd Wednesday of this month.

Just joined up, it looks like it's the 4th Wednesday, the 28th.

@Steve Vaughan, Thank you and I hope you all do hold me to it! Accountability is a good thing. I'm going to listen to the podcasts now. Thanks again!

Hi @Nick Cassidy

I'm exactly where you are. I have a construction background and I've seen some of the potential possible through REI. I'm also looking for that entry point into investing. I liked what @John Steele was saying about helping out in return for them teaching you. I think I'm going to try that approach as well continuing to listen to the podcasts and reading the material. I just got @Brandon Turner's book on no/low money down investing. Pretty excited to read it. Successful investing to us all!

Hi @Brent Bowers,

I also just bought the book myself. I got the digital copy and printed it out so I can make notes in the margins. Like you I'm pretty excited to jump into it!

@Faiz, There are a couple of REI clubs in the Inland Empire where you could probably network and meet some wholesalers.

I plan on getting more involved with BP including listening to the podcasts daily and spending time in the forums daily. I also plan on finding a local REI group to join. My goal is to purchase at least two properties in 2015.

@Joseph Riv

Hi Joseph, I'm in the same place as you. Only been here a few days, but have been able to check out some of the forums and listen to some podcasts. There's a ton of great info and great people on this site. Good luck and enjoy!
