Go to your bank and ask if they have deposit cards. They are just like a debit card but you can only make deposits. Wells Fargo and Chase have them. We have been doing this for about a year and it has been great. Just go online and you know if rent has been paid. Hope this helps.

I could not have got in the game without my wife. We have acquired 3 single family homes in the last year and a half. She was in the medical field and wasn't really happy. Since we started all I do is pick the property and she takes over. She has dealt with closings, contractors, showings, land lording and everything between. Did I mention she already dealt with an evictions? She is simply put a "Beast" at this real estate thing. I hope your wife try's it. She may find she loves it.
Best of Luck to you!

@David Jackson Lubbock is a great place, I have been trying to keep an eye on property there for the simple fact they won't feel the bust if this boom plays out. In the end I bought a property here in Midland, I can stay on it being in the same city and the rental income is to good to ignore. And go Red Raiders!!! lol

I may be wrong but it just seems a little more passive than the other forms out there. For now I'm just staying open to any opportunity. We are closing on a SF 2bedroom 2.5 bath this week. This is to get our feet wet on buy and hold.

Hi BP,
I'm Shane Hobbs, my wife Sheri and I live in Midland, Tx. We enjoy travel, hiking and too much more to list. We are starting out with buy and hold in mind. Storage looks attractive in the future. I have been a reader of BP for some time now and feel there is a ton of knowledge and help to be had here. Thanks for the knowledge I have gained all I will learn from all of you.
