I just wanted to get some opinions and lessons learned when viewing listings. 
What small details are you looking for that new investors may overlook or just may not be experienced enough to look out for?

What are some things you missed in the past? What details have you noticed that saved you money in the long run?

What is the difference between when you first started to invest compared to your current investor savvy self? Thank you in advance!

Hello All,

When searching for property on the MLS is it important to have your own agent or does it matter versus just dealing with the selling agent? Not sure I understand exactly what an agent does beyond finding properties and the benefits of having an agent that represents you as a buyer. Thanks in advance!

Good day BP community,

Since I’ve become a member of BP I often scroll the forums and see some of the same Real Estate Rockstars answering questions or providing guidance and opinions. 

Some replies are brief, others lengthy and structured (like an article). Being new to REI I'm constantly learning and want to record the information I'm learning via podcast, forums, books, etc. Being able to quick reference this information when needed seems a tall task.

My question for the community. How do you go about organizing all the information you've learned throughout your REI journey? Is it a journal, word document, voice notes? Have those methods changed since you've first started and how do you organize them?

Regardless of where you are in your journey, all responses welcomed. Thank you in advance!

Welcome to BP! There's a meetups page under the networking tab which also gives you opportunities to connect with investors in your area. You can also set up keyword alerts when you run a search on the site, or you can access the option in your profile settings. You'll be notified when those keywords are mentioned in the forums, for ex. (Jersey, beginner). I just recently joined BP and I'm currently taking the Rookie Bootcamp.
