@Ethan Neumann definitely worthwhile to do your homework as there are a bunch out there. It sounds like you both have identified strategy of some sorts for your business, would say it's important to find someone that aligns with you and your partners goals and objectivies. Having worked with the Jake & Gino team I 100% vouch for them having helped me close on a 20+ unit deal and counting. Definitely a family type culture, which I enjoy and appreciate. Feel free to reach out further if I can be of any help in your journey.

@Nancy Wang I second David Green's book - glad you're starting it, there's a lot of good content in there that'll be relevant to your current situation.

Realizing that you're not local and don't have much of a team down there, aside from your PM, do you still have a relationship with the realtor that helped you purchase this house? They may have some suggestions on contractors they'd recommend/ trust. The realtor I use has helped me with smaller scale type issues.

Hope this helps!

@Leslie Purdy I would reach out to local agents and see if they can provide any solutions.

Not knowing who you’ve tried to reach out to my first inclination is to reach out to multiple independent agents the reason being they’ll have the ability to reach out to multiple insurance companies to try to get quotes. They also may be able to access wholesale markets which should ultimately provide a solution for you.

Hope this helps, let me know if I can provide more information.

Hi BP’s,

First time creating a new thread - here goes nothing.

Curious on what your perspective is towards utilizing a mentor in the MF space.

If you have a mentor, what has that experience been like? How has that affected your investing/ syndication journey? Has the relationship felt genuine?

If not, why? What tilted the scale in the direction of no mentor. How has that decision affected your syndicating career?

There’s obviously pros and cons that many podcasts, books, and even forums do a good job of outlining, but generally speaking, any insight you can provide on having that mentor relationship as a MF syndicator would be helpful.

Thanks for taking the time to read my post!

Nate

@Chris Lubrano consistent with the comments above All Risks is a reputable Excess and Surplus Lines broker. The insurance companies they represent are what’s considered “non-admitted” meaning the “paper” they write their contracts on are not filed within that given state. States regulate the insurance rates charged by a given insurance company and coverage provided on the given contract. Non-admitted coverage isn’t necessarily a bad thing often times it can be better coverage than you would have otherwise received or even provide coverage when no other coverage would have been provided.

Just be sure the policy is covering what you want/ need it to.
