You'll still have to press start/stop, but I like to use the Stride app because then I can also export an Excel sheet at the end of the year to write off on my taxes for business purposes (if the driving is tax deductible for you, that is).

It'll also show a map of your route that you can tap and zoom in on on the phone, but you can't visualize it on the computer through a web app. I wish it had that feature, but it at least will make sure you don't forget an area.

Buy a home, right? Yes, but no.

Right now I am living with my parents and working a full-time job for $14. I am investing every penny and putting it in stocks and crypto. They have been gracious enough to not charge me rent while I save.

I want to get into real estate, but even a simple 3/2 home is $220k+ (at the bare minimum) in the area that I am living.

The rental rates would most likely be $1400 monthly for that home. So it doesn't meet the 1% rule, and expenses would outweigh any rental income from the home.

Given this, what is a sensible first step? If I move somewhere else for a slightly better paying job, all of my income would go towards rent. If I stay in the area, my job options are limited and low pay. It's a tourist economy with seasonal income. I am lucky to have found a full-time position.

@Karl Brenner Hi Karl, I have been in the Myrtle Beach area for 3 years. I am new/still learning about real estate investments, but if you have any questions about the area you can certainly reach out and PM me!

Thank you for the advice Nate, I appreciate it. I think I am more of an operations person, as I often find ways to make processes more efficient. I will take a look at the careers available through mortgage companies and title companies, thanks!

I just graduated this summer and I am having an incredibly difficult time finding work in the real estate industry. I wanted to find a job that allowed me to learn about real estate investing while providing me the income necessary so that I could invest myself. I'm struggling to get any responses or interviews.

Is there something I am missing? Do I just need to become an agent? Are there certifications or classes I need to take to help out a property management company? I've applied for Leasing Consultant positions and Assistant Property Management positions but nothing has come through. Any advice would be appreciated!

Hey Bigger Pockets! Is anyone in the Atlanta metro area looking for a property management assistant? I just completed my Bachelor of Business Administration as of July 2020, and I want to learn more about real estate investing while also pursuing a career in the field. I would like to find a support role at a company that is hiring full-time, preferably a smaller company.
