I've been going through so many posts and blogs and books to try to get started, and am now getting into the phase of starting to talk to realtors and setting up property visits to try and learn. I am interested in getting started in real estate investing in the DC/VA area. Although I am from the Northern Virginia area, I have been looking for properties in Richmond, VA (because it's more affordable) as well as in the DC area. I am looking to buy my first property soon, but I am unsure of where to start. I have been reading a bunch of books on real estate investing but would still love to talk to someone who has experience with real estate investments in one of these markets. Would anyone be willing to talk about their experiences in Richmond/DC and potentially provide mentorship? I would really appreciate any help anyone would be willing to provide!
