Post: Cash Flow on Rental Properties

Hello All,

What's the average cash flow on a standard 3 bed/2-2.5 bath single family or a standard 2 bedroom multi family rental property in the Houston TX area and surrounding cities? I know rental incomes vary wildly depending on a number of factors like location, condition, demand, management structure, etc. but is there a range that one can use as a guide when making an offer on an investment property?

Hi Eliott,

I checked out the Harris County interactive tool and found it to be quite informative.

Thanks a lot

Obi

Hi Andrew,

Good call on checking with neighbors and surrounding homes. I'll be utilizing the FEMA flood map and other resources.

Thanks,

Obi

Hello Amika,

Thanks for the info. I'm trying to not make too many mistakes purchasing an investment property. I work in insurance and agree that a home can be flooded even if not in a designated flood zone.

Thanks for your help,

Obi

Hello All,

I'm looking to purchase my first rental property in the Houston area including the surrounding suburbs. Are there resources available that can help me avoid purchasing a property in a flood zone?

Many thanks
