Post: Promissory Note

Hello everyone, I am located in Tulsa Oklahoma. I was in the process of having a Promissory Note reviewed by Our local REIA attorney. I found out today (2 weeks Later) he won't do it because he has done business with the other party in the past. I understand that part, but why wait two weeks to let me know.

They said they cannot recommend anyone else to do it because of the small amount. I was told to check with the Bar Association. For the record, the amount was $50,000 secured by a first lien position. I am acting as the lender in this transaction.

If their is anyone in Tulsa that would like to do business with me please let me know. Can this be done by a title company without having a lawyer involved? I appreciate any feedback, thanks. Mike

I am able to use a 10% military discount at Lowe's so that is where I buy most of my higher priced Items. Maybe if you have a friend or family member that is a veteran you could have them buy more expensive items like appliances or lumber and use their discount.

Does anyone have a "Release of Liability" waiver? I would like to have one to have un-insured people working on my property sign. Mainly for labor type jobs from people on craigslist, trash-out, haul-off, brush clean-up. Also a "Release of Lien" would be good to have signed after payment. I thought if someone has one they could upload it to the File Place.  Thanks

I have been listening to the podcast for a while but have not been active on the site. Bare with me, what do you mean by " check out the signature"? We recently purchased a new primary residence and will be using our existing homes (2) as rentals after minor rehab. Then we plan on purchasing more buy and hold rentals. We own both homes free and clear.

Thanks for the reply. He is asking $8,000 up front and $200 a month as long as you are in the program.

How much should someone expect to pay for a real estate mentoring program from a local investor?
