@Terry N.

You shouldn’t have any issues doing that to my knowledge. Best to consult with an attorney to make sure your always safe. I haven’t read anything that stops you from doing that though

@Sonny Patel

Hey Sonny,

This sounds like a interesting subject to me, I’m a builder/contractor and full time investor.

I have questions, will you be putting any cash into a deal as well or just helping from design and permits?

What level of equity are you hoping with what skills your are bringing to the partnership?

Do you have any properties yourself or is this your first time?

I’d like to talk more about this if you want to chat privately

@Chris Kendrick

I’m fine sharing all my tips, you would need millions to own a small part of market share to worry about competition and plus what you think is a secret is know by many people.

Just my opinion

Hey everyone who lives or owns properties in Raleigh NC.

As a builder and a real estate investor here in Raleigh North Carolina, I try to keep in communications with the city of Raleigh and they have published multiple times that they are focused on affordable housing. Recently, Raleigh has noticed accessory dwelling units AKA ADUs as a good idea to encourage to help with the affordability crisis.

Raleigh now has approved plans for fast track ADU builds that can be purchased online which helps investors speed up the process in the permitting side of development.

But recently, Raleigh is noticing, not as much traction as they would hope so they just put out a workshop to help the city figure out how to encourage more homeowners and investors into Building accessory dwelling units.

Are any investors in this group? Curious about building an accessory dwelling unit on one of their properties or Main property located in the city of Raleigh?

What questions do you have about ADUs and what would you feel like would help you make that decision about building on your property?

I’m going to discuss issues that cause investors to not build with the city .

I feel like the major things are finances, setbacks, and no tax or grant encouragement.

@Adam Oldham

It can be difficult at first but ask contractors what they can expect for certain things like LVP floors. Like a ball park per sq ft

@David Dahan welcome, we have a pints and properties meet up tomorrow. You should join.

@Susan Lee I’m sorry to hear you had this happen to you.

Unfortunately these things happen more often than not, as a general contractor here in raleigh I ask my out of state clients to have all funds held in an escrow account. It allows me to know I won’t be screwed and they are protected. Costs a little bit of money but it can protect you. Than you pay an inspector to check the job.

Again it’s insurance. I’d be pissed at the realtor for recommending him.

For anyone saying no deposits, good luck. As a GC I won’t start a job with out a deposit or a escrow account to ensure I have funds. I’m not a bank, some people don’t realize that
