Hi Jon
I have to say I truly love working in the real estate industry. I used be in Sales and Marketing management in IBM and other high-tech companies - but the last 8 years helping Real Estate Professionals have been the most rewarding.
I used to think the IT industry was fast paced - but real estate is much faster. The impact of technology on marketing ideas and the way it drives the ebb and flow of power and relationships never ceases to amaze me.
I look forward to being involved in this forum!

Marketing to FSBOs is a exercise in building relationships and trust. If you figure out how to do that in a non-threatening way then you stand to be the one left when they want to actually use a Realtor.
Remember - they already made their mind up not to use a Realtor - so direct confrontation probably wont work!

Well done to anyone that Farms a neighborhood. This is a great marketing approach. My local Realtors must win over 80% of all the listings in my neighborhood just because they keep in touch and engage with the residents.

If this is something you are inclined to do I'd recommend approaches that help you to build relationships. There are many ideas out there - don't just 'advertise' - do something of value that is associated with you.

I recommend Neighborhood websites as a method for building relationships. A good company that I know is NonStopNeighbors - worth checking out if want to Farm a Neighborhood.

Hi - happy 2009.

I'm here to network and get involved with the community.
My company has been providing web based tools and services to realtors for nearly 8 years now - prior to that I was 21 years with sales and marketing in IBM and other global tech companies.

My clients of SPS span the globe - from New Zealand to the USA and many countries in between.

Love to hear from you!
