The question that comes to mind after reading this thread is "what investments stayed solvent before, during, and after the bubble burst?" 

I know it was a prime time to buy RE at bargain prices, but what I really want to know is what strategies were fundamentally sound no matter how the markets performed. Or is changing and adapting the name of the game?
