Hi Manisha, I am also looking for SFR in the Birmingham area to rent. It looks like Hoover will be less expensive than Vestavia, Homewood, and Mtn Brook. If you go farther south in to Shelby county, prices go down.

@Colin Smith I would jump on any opportunity to go debt free (mortgages excluded). I did that and am very happy. 

But with school debt, you might wait around and see if the Gov (translation: taxpayers) will pick up the tab. I wouldn't be surprised to see this proposed leading up to the 16 elections.

Is there a difference in annual dues between just having your RE license and being a broker?
