Hello Austin!

Because of your post, I had to post my newbie introduction too. Military members are big on rental properties due to the benefits of the VA loan.

I'm currently processing my first investment property. The best knowledge we can get is the experience itself! Let me know if you have questions. I am a newbie but I will give information you need about what's happening with my current transaction. I'm nervous but I will help out. Happy holidays!

Happy post-Thanksgiving and pre-Christmas holidays to everyone!

My name is Queena and I'm currently in San Antonio, Texas, and currently working to process my first investment here too! I am active duty with the Navy as a corpsman. My goal in joining Bigger Pockets is happening at the moment. I connected with a real estate agent here in BP and found he is currently helping me in my first property investment. I want to do house hack. I've seen my parents do it and I'm guessing house hacking is in my blood and I want to do it too. Fun fact - I love to snowboard. I suck at it but I love it.

I'm hoping to connect with everyone who has the same goals. Taking it one step at a time in the REI community and making these dreams work.

Hello all.

I believe to be the "rookiest" in BP, so apologies. I am looking to buy a property for me to live in and planning to rent it by the room. We made an offer to 1 property and looking at the crime rate, it is a tough area. You would often hear shootings. I am concerned with attracting tenants, maintaining my own security, and for my future tenants. The area is near downtown, schools, and restaurants. But I am just worried. Any advice?
