So I joined BP several weeks ago. I have been reading and educating myself about the field of RE Investing. I have been checking out the webinars and podcasts. I am happy to say I have taken the first step today into RE investing by contacting the owner of an abandoned house I found over the weekend. I know there is much work to be done yet, even as I am in the process of building my mailing list. But wanted to celebrate the first step :-). Hopefully I will be able to post success stories soon.

Thanks you very, very much for the motivation. I will check out the recommended books. @Aaron Ramm, @Brandon Turner, and @Rhevon Lewis. I have started listening to the podcasts. I have also attended @Brandon Turner's last webinar and listened to additional ones. I think the site is awesome so I will be here often.

I am a new investor in the Washington DC metropolitan area. I am new to BP and to this forum. I have been browsing several of the posts and I am encouraged. I am interested in wholesale opportunities as a way of getting into the business. My long-term goal is to build a sustainable real estate business for many years to come. I made the decision in January this year to enter the real estate business fulltime. My main focus over the next two to three months will be to gain as much education as possible as it relates to the real estate business before seeking my first deal. I followed the advice of someone on the forum to buy "The book on flipping" and "The book on estimating" which I will be digesting over the next few weeks. Any further advice is welcome.
