Quote from @Brad Evans:
Should I take a HELOC on my primary residence that I purchased in 2021 to use for down payment on a oceanfront condo in Myrtle Beach SC for a short term rental?

Welcome Elisa! A good place to start with the STR business is to read Avery Carl's book Short Term Rental Long Term Wealth. The book is a good read, and gives you the entire roadmap for the STR business and how to be successful.
I invest in STRs in Myrtle Beach SC. Happy to connect and talk STRs!

@Jeff Ebert Have you tried marketing on sites like furnished finder? You might be able to land some traveling nurses etc during the off season.

@Liridon Fetahu - Myrtle Beach is a great area to invest as this is the area I currently invest in. The area attracts many vacationers during the summer months, and if you are able to get some winter renters from Oct - March its a win/win.
