Hi BP Family, I am having trouble refinancing a property that I own in Texas. The property is worth about 140k, I currently owe 65k on it. When I attempted to refinance it, I was told that it couldn’t be done. Can anyone help me to understand why this would be the case? If I am not mistaken, this is specific to Texas??? If anyone can recommend a lender that might be of help, I would appreciate it. Thanks,

@Brandon Carriere I am mid stream in the process with them now but I would be interested in taking you up on your offer of the reference. Thanks

@Amanda Sinclair I don’t want to mislead or broad brush comment on the entire organization but my experience in this particular case feels that way.

Thanks for your response.

This is my second refinance but first with these guys. The first one was nothing like this.

Hi BP Family,

I am working with Rocket Mortgage on a refinance but I have an uneasy feeling about this process. The process feels pressured.  has anyone else had this experience with these guys?

Any recommendation for refinancing with a good lender that doesn't take the high pressured sales approach.

Thanks,

@LeAnna Davis Are there any REI groups meeting up in your area? If so, maybe you start there. In my humble opinIon, The cumulative knowledge in a GOOD meet up group can be invaluable. Be careful of Gurus and their sales pitches. “Measure twice and cut once”

@Miranda Simon Take the time to carefully and realistically develop your entire plan for your project... sweat the details. Vet and put together your team and set a clear and distinct plan in place as well as everyone’s roles and responsibilities. The team must all be on the same page. Hick ups may come about but if everyone is on the same page and the goal is clear, you’ll get through them. “Measure twice and cut once”

@Abigail Timbol I consider myself a newbie and I hesitate in giving any advise for that reason. I have completed 10 deals and I learn so much throughout the process of each one. I still hinder myself with limiting beliefs of not knowing enough.

While I absolutely agree that you should do your homework and educate yourself as much as possible, you will never know it all and you probably already know enough to take steps towards completing your first deal. Map out your steps, keep and open mind to change and trust yourself. I don't think anyone will ever know it all but don't let that keep you out the game. Excited for you.
