You know @Michael Notothat's what I was thinking.

One of the other properties that I recently found is now "off" the market. I'm trying to find out if that too is really off or just de-listed. It was in the 1933 era and too far back for me but I wanted to find out if things like the plumbing and electrical were up to date.

Hey wait

@Edward BarnesI sent that too soon! Honestly, I have never heard of GACAR. Awesome thanks. You're in Virginia, how did you know about this. LOL

Got one for Tallahassee? :)

@Edward BarnesI would need someone with MLS or GACAR login in order to access that information. :(

Thanks @Edward BarnesI will surely follow up with an agent. I am not a realtor so I don't have access to MLS. I use the sites to narrow down my search prior to going to my agent to get more info.

Redfin I found doesn't carry all cities. I tried to use it for a few searches and it couldn't find my city and state I was needing to find info on. I even put in a zipcode and it kept telling me it could not find it.

Having the DOM at 2 days rather than the number of days it has actually been there gives me pause and thinking they aren't getting any offers. :)

@Jennifer Chevezno I was not able to get any further than looking up "already" filed judgements in the county records.

Albeit after the fact, in my county I can get the information on the owner as it's filed with their name and address. It's not as the process is going on so that window is missed.

I suspect though that still knowing I can get the owner information as a result of the judgement being filed is a 1st step.

@Mike Huangactually wanted "landlords who are going through those" and what I found is that the information is there but after the fact of eviction.

Hi Bpers,

I use realtor.com, Zillow, and trulia to name a few sites for searching homes.

A couple in particular I've saved and have been doing research on.

"Today" I pulled up one property and found the DOM as 2 days. ???

How can that be when I know this property has been for sale for some time (I don't have exact days/months but I drove by and I already talked to a realtor about it and it has been at least a few months).

It appears it was pulled and re-listed (although on Zillow that usually says when it was relisted, just has one entry as though it's new for the last 2 days).

I'm not sure what's going on and I know these sites are subjective on the information. I see a lot of discussion about Zillow in particular and not relying on the "zestimates" and such.

Is the realtor company setting this up to make it appear as though it's actually "new" when it's now. That's well....deceptive? :/

So is this the norm on these sites? I'm using them more and more to find out information to have something more solid before I even talk to my agent.

Would a change in seller realtors trigger an update like this?

Thank you

@David O.

Is it prudent to contact the appraisers office to find out their current assessment to determine what the tax will be? Is that possible?

Thanks

hi @Drew Wiard

I had the same problem when I bought one of my properties. When we looked at it prior to buying there was no hint of smell. After closing and going back we noticed a smell that we didn't encounter before. Short of it is, we thing they sprayed and dodo something else to mask the order so they could sell. I've heard of this before with tenants that smoke and are not supposed to and use deceptive tactics when there is an inspection coming up.

Anyway, I had ozone treatments done 3-4 times and it didn't work. The company guaranteed this method over all others and didn't charge me for the additional treatments since I told them after the 1st and 2nd that the smell was still lingering. They agreed as they too could still smell the smoke.

I washed the fans had the place painted and the carpet cleaned washed down the wood doors and base boards to no avail all before the ozone.

I found a product called Vamoose on Amazon for $35-40 that was a gallon container. It worked wonders on removing the odor. I sprayed and cleaned the windows, base boards, air intake vents....their instructions are very simple to follow.

Hi @Kyle Snoozyhave you tried your local county / city web site they should have information on the property. Also, tax collector web site or public records. You might even just call or visit your appraisers office.

I use these sources all the time when in doing research.

Good luck
