@Tanner Sommese like many of the other members above house hacking can be a great start for you. Being 19 I think it is important for you to get all your ducks in a row. Hopefully you have a good credit score if not work on that.  Do you currently have the funds to make a down payment? If not how do you plan on getting your down payment? Find the area that you want to invest in and start learning that area inside and out.  I live in central jersey but invest in the lehigh valley in pa.  I probably know more about the Bethlehem area then the area that I live in. Then start networking with investors in the area that you want and you will also learn more about the area.  Then of course keep on learning everything you can from biggerpockets

@Luis Pineda I live in central jersey. I currently invest in Pennsylvania cause it is far enough were there aren't crazy prices, and crazy taxes but close enough were I can also keep and eye on it if necessary.

@Asif Baig I have a 9 unit in south Easton.  This area use to be a bad area 15-20 plus years ago but has definitely come a long way since then.  A lot of investors have been investing in this area and it has been getting a lot better.

I am concerned with higher inflation. Our government has infused a lot of cash into the economy between 2009- and now.  I believe (my opinion not trying to be political) Donald Trump and his cabinet will keep on infusing cash into the economy as they see fit to help raise the stock market.  If Biden gets elected we will see a change in economic policy which will slow the growth of the economy, and we still will have the inflation from infusion of cash from the trump administration. As an investor with a lot of commercial loans this really can hurt my future cash flow if rates go up significantly due to higher inflation and my loans are due to adjust.  No one knows what is going to happens in the future. But I would like to prepare for the worse and hope for the best

@Ani Kap is this property in the lehigh valley? If so I can give you some local banks that might be able to help you out.

@Leonardo Carrasco If you cant start locally due to being to expensive i would still try and find something within in a hour or so. Your main goal is to not work your rental properties but in the beginning you need to learn everything about each process even if you plan on getting pm. Once you find 2 or 3 areas go to some meet ups and talk to some investors about the areas. Drive around and know the area inside and out. I would personally recommend the lehigh valley as a great place to invest.

@Lance Francis i would check out the lehigh valley. You can find a very nice multi family in a decent area for around 200-300k. This area has been a nice hot bed since its right across the nj boarder and people are leaving new jersey faster then any other state.

I live in central jersey and have been investing in the Lehigh valley for a long time. It is a great place to invest and is definitely a place that is still on the rise. There have been alot of tenants coming from new New Jersey as of late. If you have a good property in the Bethlehem area you can easly rent with in a couple of day.
