Monthly Lewiston Auburn Landlord Association meeting.  Come network with local landlords.   This month we will have the Auburn Community Development coming to discuss the new Lead Program and Programs available to help improve buildings.   

First meeting is free and then there is a yearly fee to join.  

I have an apartment that was just found to need some remediation for mold.  It is going to involve a complete bathroom and kitchen remodel.   Am I responsible for finding a place for the tenant to stay? They are on a month to month just so just give them the option to move.  Or they just find their own housing guessing it will be a few weeks between the remediation and to remodel.  

I live in New Gloucester and have investments in L/A.

We have no smoking in our rentals but have prospective tenant that will smoke outside.  Has anyone charged a smokers deposit so if the apartment then does smell like smoke can use to help rectify.  Similar to a pet deposit?

@Amy A.  I have had an eviction hit for Maine.  

I have used Cozy.co for a few applicants and have had some detailed results. They have a free online payment system that I have used for a year now without any issues. You can have the applicant pay for the check. You can look on the help section for a sample credit and background report
