Thank you @Geoffrey Pierce for starting this. Definitely quality answers from reputable people, but the one thing that wasn’t mentioned and I think is crucial with regard to aspect of time, is sourcing assets. This to me, who is much less experienced by far than all that have replied, is where the absorption of time comes in. It’s common knowledge that pricing has moved upward (and from what I read here, investor expectations don’t seem to be on par with that but that’s another story). Thus I’m wondering if we could get some feedback on that aspect as well? I hope this is not a “hijacking” of your post but more of an elaboration. Thank you, Robert

Jay Hinrichs do you advise against buying new Jay? I actually did that like 12 years ago. The builder was great but the PM company....

Hi Martin Saenz it was nice meeting you at the IMN. You’re a super humble guy. Obviously an idea without a plan is just a wish. I jumped in way too quick. I also find that there are a lot of sharks in the water. I am not a trusting person to begin with. Don’t get me wrong I’ve met a lot of decent people. Wayne Snell for example whose participated in this thread and one of his investors commented. I’ve never done business with him but I’m very resourceful and it’s not taking me long to find out who’s who. I’ve heard that he’s actually taken money out of his pocket to protect his investors. Besides the few times I’ve spent with him, he’s actually a funny guy with a great personality. And again I’ve heard from very reliable people, honest to a fault. I think for me, my problem is twofold. One lack of inventory and two I would say the amount of work. Nothing in life comes easy but I just sold a business with a bunch of employees (a major headache) but I had great ones too. If I needed things done I would just give instructions and it would get done. So I got spoiled. One girl was amazing, she would handle any task I need. My wife is exceedingly sharp and would be a huge asset if I could grow the business. She’s a compliance consultant for Broker/Dealers. They call her the “silent assassin”. I don’t have it in me to sit on the phone all day making calls. But I believe there’s more than one way to skin a cat. So I’m trying to find an angle. I put a lot of pressure on myself; it’s a blessing and a curse. But the battle continues.

It seems Noteworthy is back on. Seems like a good event. I’m going to go but truth be told I need to meet with someone out there anyway. So kill two birds with one stone. A lot of the bigger names I see are scheduled to speak.

Wells Fargo almost wouldn’t open my account. Something to do with not wanting to open an account that invests. We just played with the words a bit and got it open. I can see the marijuana as it’s still federally prohibited. That’s why Constellation Brands (they own Corona, Modelo etc) invested 2 billion recently in Canada’s marijuana business and not here. @Tim Simmons when you open an account they are supposed to ask you about the business. It’s all about KYC (know your customer) to keep the compliance people happy.

I can’t believe how beneficial this IMN is turning out to be. Met a lot of big hitters and had a great time. And technically it hasn’t started. Here I am struggling with my first note and people there trading 7,000 notes a year and industry pros with decades in the business and the best part is it’s in my hometown so no traveling. Can’t wait for tomorrow when it officially starts!

Hi @Gail Greenberg , yes thanks definitely I have a law firm I’m going to be using. Plus I’ll be looking myself as Scott suggested. The first one I did went so fast it was over before I knew it. And I just checked online where It’s stored and saw an “Adjustable Rate Note”. Thanks again

Jay Hinrichs actually I just checked again and there was a link and I found the copy of the Promissory Note. I’m glad I slowed down and didn’t go crazy submitting bids. I can see there is a learning curve and I’d rather learn like this not by actually buying something I have no idea what I’m doing. Thanks again!

Jay Hinrichs as always thanks. I will have to call tomorrow, I see in my emails a Written Loan Agreement, and a title policy but nothing that says “note”.
