Jason, you came in the right place if you really do want to start a wholesale business. I am also new in the business and I got started in here just as stated by Mr. Jason Cummins. I drive around a lot myself to get to know the kind of houses I have in my area and the neighboring cities.

When I see a house for sale with realtors, I call the number and ask them a couple of questions like "how much is the selling price", "how long has it been in the market" and the typical detail of a house like number of bed/bath, etc. This way I can get a feel of how the market is going in a certain area of my neighborhood.

And REI clubs are a great way for other investors to know who you are in the business and network with them. Read up in "Real Estate Marketing" forums also. I got a lot of good ideas to incorporate in my business. I'm just starting so I've yet to actually get the ideas going and tally its effectiveness in my market. It's a great business!!

Don't regret saying anything. I'm sure that many people appreciate your opinions.

I think what James is trying to determine is whether you came out of Nouveau riche with a strong background. Seems like he's trying to determine what one might get from an education there.

I understand that... but people will have to understand also that there are some who is sincere to have a career in real estate investing like myself. I enrolled myself because I don't have strong background in real estate investing. And even if I got educated by a $16K education, I still wouldn't when I don't have hands-on experience yet. I gotta learn somehow and the value I saw with NR's education is something I highly appreciate.

But thanks for trying to clear it out Joshua! I'll wait on James to tell me what he's really trying to say.

How can I share when I'm only starting in the business?

And why am I being put on the spot, when my intention was clean and simply wanting to share my experience with NR?

I don't understand what you're implying. I spent $16K on my personal education. I found value on it and that's for my personal enrichment. That's all there is to it. People spend money on things everyday and I just happen to choose to spend my hard earned money on that.

Wow... I'm regretting that I said something. And I had a gut feeling that I would be profiled as such too. This is VERY disappointing and I feel insulted.

Sadly to say, what you said is true. Unfortunately, there are many NR students that does that. Doing nothing after camp... or doing something else and I DEFINITELY refuse to be that!

When I decided to stop marketing, the guy that got me in was trying to convince me to stay and said I would make faster $$ with marketing. Huh?!! That just doesn't make sense to me!

Are you the one?

Either way, it is interesting to hear your experience and thoughts on the matter.

You're quick to respond... I was still editing my post! LOL!

I understand the part that anyone can be skeptical about NR because I've seen and experienced it myself. I'm here just to share my experience and I hope that people will find useful when making decisions to dump $16K to get educated. I'm glad to shed a little bit of light to it.

And no doubt... once I become a little more experienced in the business... I'd love to share the knowledge and experience to others! I plan to stick around for as long as I can!

So not one NR students have done their part of sharing in the forums huh?

Whew... this is a pretty heated thread.

In my experience with NR, the education they offer is GREAT (I'm a student BTW)! But their marketing strategy (income opportunity) is the part I can't see "eye to eye" with them. I attended and spent money with their income opportunity training and event which is to sell tuition packages to people. I got fired up in the beginning but later I learned for myself it just doesn't fit with my goal and intention why I enrolled myself with NR. I'm not even picking up the products I purchased to educate myself and it is collecting dusts in my bookshelf.

I have been to the college in AZ twice now. For beginner like me, I found the education I received is highly valuable. I feel without enrolling myself with NR, I would’ve never had the guts to be willing to take a risk of running a business with real estate investing doing Wholesale. But many of the students go and come back only to focus again with the income opportunity and market NR to other people; wash and repeat. That bothered me a lot! It has been several months now since I decided to stop involving myself with their marketing and focus on the main reason why I enrolled myself with NR... get educated and take action!!

BTW, for those that don't know, you can just enroll and don't even bother with marketing at all. I'm not endorsing anything, just letting you know.

Personally, my experience with them is a positive one in terms of the education they offer. If you're thinking of enrolling with NR, please, perform your due diligence carefully. This thread is just one of the many ways you can learn about the company and make your educated decision. And ff you decide to join their income opportunity to market NR, do it, BUT make sure you do your best in getting involved with what you’re marketing; that is education in real estate investing, taking action and doing deals/transactions and become successful doing both.

Again... I'm not endorsing or condoning NR... just trying to express my opinion and personal experience.

I did not know you can request for address correction. How can I do it? You know, I'm on my way to the public recorders office next week, I will do that.

Or at least return my calls. I would try knocking at their door, but the property is empty.

I'm moving forward anyway... if they call back, great! At least I tried to do something when I thought I may have found myself a potential deal. Thanks for all the help!
