You'll definitely want to do your research. I've heard horror stories where sketchy AC install companies install used systems when you're paying for a new one. You really don't want that!

Welcome to BP, Jeff. I'm sure as you hang around the site you'll notice that many people do live in flips like you are doing. Its definitely a viable investing approach. Good luck on the investments!

That is pretty sizeable, and that is quite the drop. Hopefully there is an alternate repair beyond breaking and repouring, that stuff can get expensive.

Depends on how big of an area and how serious the issue is. Mudjacking may be possible, re-level is possible, or they may have to remove, grade, and re-do it all. Wise to call some concrete/foundation companies and get some info and bids.

Inspections are a must if you don't know what you're looking for or at.

Deal could still be there. Its all about the numbers.

You could file a liability claim w/ your insurance to see if there is any coverage there. However, its a tree that fell. Without there being some kind of neglected health issue to the tree that you haven't accounted for, there is typically no liability on you. You cannot control wind blowing a tree branch or whole thing down and where it falls. Your attorney should be able to give you some add'l info on avenues, I'd assume.

I'm not up in MA but really like where your head is at with your ideas. Good luck!

Cracks like that can be from varying sources. Depending on the source is what would concern/not concern me. Settling will do that, which shouldn't be much concern, some of the micro fracking quakes can cause this as well down in the south. If its a major foundation issue, than its concerning to me. However, that can also be repaired but I'm sure your offer would adjust if that was the issue.
